Who is behind Automate Society, how the articles come about, and how to tell what you are reading.
Automate Society is a blog about technology, IT, artificial intelligence and automation. I publish it: I am Aytekin Armutcu, an independent IT consultant. I build automations, web applications and AI integrations for mid-sized clients and run the infrastructure for them myself.
That shapes the perspective here. I am less interested in what a vendor announces than in what survives contact with a real project. I write for people who make decisions and then have to live with them.
Two kinds of article
Short news runs 150 to 300 words. It always names its source, states what happened, and closes with a sentence or two on why it matters to readers of this site. It appears under the "Editorial team" byline. That is not a second person but a label: a report reports, it does not opine.
Analysis is longer, has an argument and an opinion. It appears under my name, because it is my judgement rather than the state of things.
How the articles are produced
Research is automated. A workflow continuously reads vendor blogs, trade press, Hacker News and arXiv, removes duplicates and scores what fits the subjects of this site. Drafts for the short news are then produced with AI assistance from the remaining sources, in German and English.
Analysis works differently. An AI routine suggests theses with evidence. When I pick one, it asks me about my own experience with the subject and writes a text in German and English on that basis. I read it in full, correct it and approve it; no analysis appears without my approval. Some I write myself, and then the routine supplies only the outline and the evidence.
Either way, responsibility for everything published here rests with me. Mistakes are my mistakes, whatever tool was involved in the draft. If you spot one, write to me: the address is in the imprint.
Corrections
If an article is changed substantively after publication, the date of the change appears above the text. Small language fixes are not marked.
My companies
Besides my own site, where I offer consulting and delivery, I run two companies:
- ayteon: Software development and web projects: applications, APIs, platforms.
- aytec systems: IT services: hosting on Hetzner, Docker setups, operations and maintenance.
The experience the analysis draws on comes from the work there.
Links to my own projects
I run other websites besides this blog. Where an article links to one of them, the link carries a "network" marker and is explained at the end of the piece. Such links are there because they fit the subject. No link on this site is paid for.
Advertising and funding
There are no ads, no advertising trackers and no sponsored articles. The blog is a consultant's calling card, and that is the entire business model.
Technology
The site is statically generated and runs on my own server in Germany. No third-party scripts are embedded and the fonts are served locally. Details are in the privacy notice.
